A drawing competition organized by the Estonian Ornithological Society and Tartu Art Museum. My drawing of three common starlings was one of three winner works that were picked to be printed as a postcard from 4312 submitted drawings.

A little bit about the process. On the left, a reference image with a grid laid on it to help with the drawing process. This helps so much with getting the proportions right. On the right is a picture I took in the middle of the drawing process. This is taken after drawing the shadows and mid-tones with charcoal and graphite pencil. Then layer after layer I added color, details, and highlights.
